In line with [https://batgrowth.com/publishers/youtube](https://batgrowth.com/publishers/youtube), 39% of the verified Youtube “publishers” have zero views on their channel. Lower than 10% of the verified publishers have greater than 50,000 views. For the Twitch publishers in accordance with [batgrowth.com](https://batgrowth.com), lower than 25% of verified Twitch channels surpasses even 100 channel views whole!

Does this not suggest that the large majority of publishers is not really a content material creator in any respect? Those that confirm themselves with their Twitch and Youtube account, create an Uphold pockets, and donate themselves the information for straightforward cash? If that is true, it implies that adoption is approach much less large than the numbers make it appear.

There is not 1000’s of creators a day becoming a member of the system to get rewarded by their group, spreading the phrase by doing so.

If I am flawed, I might like to listen to why. What prevents folks from making themselves Writer and working off? Should not there be a minimal quantity of content material put out earlier than with the ability to join and declare rewards?

I might just like the dialogue to stay pleasant and civil.

  1. Thanks for bringing attention to this, quality post.

Whether it be just scammers and teenagers trying to game the system, or naive people its definitely not cool if it hurts the ecosystem.

Also add Microsofts Mixer to the accepted publisher list!!!

  2. This is to be expected in any space that gives out freebees. However, the growth is still relevant because even though 39% of the YouTube accounts have 0 views like you say, a 100% growth is still relevant because it means we doubled the legitimate pubs no matter what the actual number is.

For these “shell” accounts that are tipping themselves, you can rest assured knowing that Uphold and Brave are catching them. These are the folks who raise a storm in the Telegram saying they got suspended but when asked publicly about their YouTube channel, they get quiet.

It’s a game of cat and mouse for sure.

  3. Well, that means 61% of YouTube publishers have views. Moreover, it’s a lot of work to get registered with bat, donate to self, do KYC then cash out tiny amounts of BAT. I’m guessing Brave will track down donations to content creators who have zero views.

In the meantime, there are 2 million downloads of the Android wallet per day.

  4. Adblockers block 40% of Google ads, billions of dollars scammed from all kinds of ad scams on Google, but somehow Google still number one.

  5. The issue is small youtubers cannot be monetized if they don’t have over 1,000 subscribers and 10,000 views a month so by using Brave it really helps in the beginning

  6. I think your point is mostly correct, but also consider that part of Brave’s appeal is that a small publisher who is just starting out can start monetizing their channel before reaching Youtube’s monetization threshold.

  7. What’s YouTube typical distribution of channels? I’d guess that the vast majority have low views/subscribers and it’s relatively few that have any significant numbers. Brave publishers are probably just reflecting YouTube’s distribution, not anything significant.
