Buy popular DeFi tokens YFI and LEND on the Blockchain.com Exchange | by Peter Smith | @blockchain | Sep, 2020

Peter Smith

Starting today, the Blockchain.com Exchange will support some of the most popular DeFi tokens on the market: YFI (yearn finance) and LEND (Aave). The enthusiasm and innovation occurring in the DeFi community are impossible to ignore. That’s why we’re eager to make some of the most in-demand tokens far more accessible to millions of Blockchain.com users worldwide.

If you’re not well-versed in using decentralized trading protocols like Uniswap — or even if you are — it can be difficult and expensive to trade these tokens. By creating order books for YFI and LEND on the Exchange, we’re not only giving millions of customers access to DeFi in a familiar exchange environment, but we’re also one of the only ways for people to purchase these tokens with fiat currency. At launch, available trading pairs will include USD-LEND, USDT-LEND, USD-YFI, and USDT-YFI.

Beginning today, we’ve enabled deposits of YFI and LEND to the Blockchain.com Exchange. Tomorrow at 2pm GMT (6am PT / 9am ET), we’ll open order books for active trading. To get started, , verify your identity, add funds, and start trading.

About Yearn Finance (YFI)

yearn.finance is “an aggregator of various lending protocols that optimizes for the highest yield. The native token YFI is used for governance over the network and is distributed exclusively through active participation and liquidity provision.” (Source: )

There are only 30,000 tokens in existence, and they have all been distributed. Additional tokens can only be minted if a governance proposal (here known as a Yearn Improvement Proposal, or YIP) passes. Visit the yearn.finance for more.

About Aave (LEND)

Aave is “a decentralized non-custodial money market protocol where users can participate as depositors or borrowers. Depositors provide liquidity to the market to earn a passive income, while borrowers are able to borrow in an overcollateralized (perpetually) or undercollateralized (one-block liquidity) fashion.” (Source: )

When users deposit funds to the protocol, it mints a new aToken (like aDAI), which can be redeemed for the underlying in much the same way other DeFi protocols operate. The LEND token is the governance token for the protocol itself, and that’s what we’re listing.
