We have been lucky to welcome some of the world’s most innovative minds to the Cartesi team in recent weeks; with talented software engineers and negotiators joining the roster. We’re building a team of professionals with expertise in various industries and will be utilising their initiative, experience and expertise to make blockchain technology and smart contracts more accessible for the wider developer community and businesses worldwide.
This week we welcome another three highly-skilled individuals to the Cartesi team!
Marcelo Castellani is a software developer based in São Paulo, Brazil, with more than twenty years of experience in backend applications. Most of his career was within the financial markets, developing high performance solutions and banking hardware such as thermal printers, POS and others.
“I had several offers to return to the blockchain world and refused most as they seemed to have no basis. Cartesi stood out to me as a revolutionary idea, well structured, and more than that; well developed.”
With certifications from the Linux Foundation, Marcelo most recently worked as the Technical leader of the infrastructure and site reliability team at Vindi, a Brazilian online payment platform. With excellent knowledge of Ruby, C/C++ and Rust, Marcelo will utilise his front and backend experience to help our continued product development and we’re excited to have him joining the team.
Claudio graduated with a Masters Degree in computer systems engineering from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), also participating in the scientific initiation programs of the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) and the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA).
Claudio worked for 21 years at the Institute of Technology in Computer Graphics at PUC-Rio (Tecgraf/PUC-Rio) with the development of systems and solutions for the oil and gas sector, more specifically in the areas of cartography for exploration, production and the environment; planning for oil refining and Logistics and derivatives supply chain.
“I am excited about the opportunity to work with Blockchain at Cartesi and to be able to collaborate with my experience in software development, centered on the importance and value of people.”
Claudio’s affinity for software development and passion for connections and people will see him fit in well at Cartesi and we are looking forward to working with him in the future months.
Mayowa started his exciting journey as a Blockchain Engineer in 2018 after gaining diverse industry experience in the E-commerce and Fintech sector — he has never looked back since.
Mayowa has previously worked with cryptocurrency exchanges, instrumenting blockchain tools to scale and support thousands of wallets, also contributing to multiple projects in the DeFi space. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from O.A.U, Nigeria, and enjoys a good blend of applying academic research to practical problems.
“What Cartesi is building is transcendentally transformative, and I am very delighted to join a team of highly talented people who are building products which will scale the experience of the Ethereum Blockchain. Exciting times are here!”
Mayowa is a lover of many genres of music but most particularly, a huge fan of Old Skool Music (Disco, Funk, Motown Soul, etc). We can’t wait to welcome him on board and discover his favourite tracks whilst working on the future of smart contracts!
As more forward-thinking, talented individuals join the Cartesi team, we could not be more excited for Q2, the coming months of product development and overall expansion.
