Sure, my name is Rodolphe Recca, I’ve been in the game industry since 1997, already 24 years. Time flies fast when you do what you love.

I worked as a Game Director and Chief Project Game Designer for big companies such as Ubisoft, Beenox-Activision, THQ, Delphine Software, Carapace, and Behaviour and had the chance to ship 16 games in my career.

I worked on famous brands such as Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Amazing Spider-Man, Indiana Jones, Prince of Persia, Kung Fu Panda, Might & Magic, Moto Racer, and others.

Through the years, I acquired experience in 1st and 3rd and person adventure games, shooters, combat, stealth, platforming, open-world, and sports games.

One of my friends introduced me to The Sandbox. The project’s ambition caught my interest. With the rise of NFT and Blockchain games, a new model is rising, the Play2Earn model.

I really believe this is the future of video games. The Sandbox is the first Social & Gaming Metaverse on the Blockchain and I wanted to be part of this adventure.

This is really innovative and I always wanted to create something that could bring value to the game community and not only create games.

New jobs will be created in the Metaverse, people will be able to socialize and earn real money while having fun. It could change their lives.

I’m a fan of Matrix, Westworld, Alita, Ready Player One and when I watched those movies or TV Shows, I could picture that they are an evolution of games. The Sandbox is the first step in this direction.

Also, with COVID-19, we find new ways to work. Working from home allows working with different people around the world. It is a real challenge as you have to match time zones. Thankfully, I’m an early bird, which allows me to work with teams in Europe, Argentina, and the USA as I’m based in Montreal, Canada.

I joined The Sandbox to help the team deliver the best experiences for the Game Maker and Game Client that are both really connected.

My role is to define the long-term vision for the Game Maker, identifying the systems, the rules, behaviors, and components that I and my team have to design as well as improving the game feel through the controls of your Avatar. It will be a long road with a lot of challenges, but I believe our team can deliver this fabulous plan.

I want to deliver a tool that allows any users, from passionate indies to expert developers to be able to create social and game experiences without coding with a few clicks and publish their games in The Sandbox Metaverse.

You can already have a glimpse of the Game Maker which will gain in maturity in our adventure and social packages, allowing you to create action combat games as well as art galleries, concerts, carnivals, streaming and more… The only limit will be your imagination.

Their potentials will be limitless, with the use of your NFTs, you will create deeper experiences, have fun creating your own worlds and bring gamers and non-gamers into your imagination.

New game genres will be able to be created by the community, I can’t wait to deliver this powerful tool to them. In the long term, I can imagine that The Sandbox will become the new gaming social media.
