In 2014, the Bithumb exchange was created by the BTC Korea.com Co. Ltd. with its founder Javier Sim. At first, the exchange was called  Xcoin exchange BTC. However, in 2015, the Xcoin exchange changed its brand name to Bithumb exchange.
